Hey Stevi,

Great Article. I was reading something else here on your site when I noticed this one. I think I might as well read the book because sometimes we kind of loose "our faith". Is not always fun to be a programmer, it very much depends on how much you like the company you work to, the project you're working on, and also the PEOPLE around you. While these elements my put off some people, if you have crystal clear reasons to love what you do... there should be no problem.

So I'l just buy the book and see if I can find those reasons.

Thanks!

I really enjoyed reading the book and found it to be a great companion to Code Complete, and Code Craft.

I really felt and agreed with one of the underlying concepts that YOU CONTROL YOUR CAREER not your boss, or the company. If you don't like where things are headed YOU MUST MAKE THE CHANGE. Anyone that's a programmer should be always trying to learn and always trying to be passionate about what they do.

And of course, "Always be the Worst."

I really love this book... but I was already a fan of Chad Fowler. I agree with your post, Stevi, especially this conclusion:
"Software is a great industry, full of brilliant people and complex problems to solve... This book provides concrete ways I can keep that passion alive."
